Shopify users Will Grow With Their Amazon e-Commerce Partnership
Are you aware of the latest goings on? Shopify, an e-Commerce software developer, based in Canada, got a huge boost from e-commerce titan Amazon. Now Shopify users can sell their products on Amazon. On top of that, Amazon is telling its users their best move to send their stores to Shopify. It is a very high powered partnership. Put simply, Shopify is gaining momentum. Earlier in the year, social media giant Facebook announced that they were in talks with Shopify merchants to test a “Buy button” that will enable them to sell their products directly on Facebook. Twitter is also working on a similar system as well. But that’s a story for another time. What’s all this about selling Shopify products on Amazon? The initial negotiations of this plan between the two sales platforms began in 2015 but were not made public until very recently.
This is a long-awaited merging of two of the world’s biggest digital marketplaces intended to connect Shopify’s large number of merchants with Amazon’s millions of potential customers to increases sales and create new audiences. This multi-channel approach to e-commerce is now easier than ever. You are now capable of adding Amazon as a sales channel into your digital storefront and create listings on Amazon out of existing products and fulfill any orders via the Shopify administration panel. The Shopify platform will also sync available inventory with all active sales channels at once. With both snapshots of your outlet’s top stock keeping units and shipping costs calculated across multiple channels, you can get a huge amount of information about your storefront’s performance. That said, there is one downside that will hopefully be only temporary.
At the moment, all a company can sell on Amazon via Shopify is items inside the Clothing and Accessories category on Amazon. Still, it is more than possible to create Amazon listing for other products straight on to the marketplace and then link them to your Shopify storefront. More good news holds that Shopify has made it clear that they would be adding the support of “Fulfillment by Amazon” which thousands of store owners were waiting for. Shopify’s chief platform officer, Harley Finkelstein, has said that most of Shopify’s over 175,000 merchants use Amazon as a sales channel, making it a natural fit for these railers to use Amazon payments. Experts admit that the capacity to work with other major players in the e-commerce industry, such as Amazon or Facebook, is a major reason for Shopify’s , growing popularity.
